Spotlight on Ruidoso Municipal Schools – Ruidoso, NM.
The high powered Cultivate Achievement tool enables state assessment data to be viewed much more dynamically than your typical state issued report. By viewing the data more dynamically, exceptional outcomes are more easily seen, and lead to the identification of outlier districts where best practices are occurring.
One such district is Ruidoso Municipal Schools, a district of about 2,000 students in New Mexico. What sets Ruidoso apart from most other districts in New Mexico is how over the last 5 years they have simultaneously increased the percentage of student scoring at proficiency in both English Language Arts (ELA) and Math State Assessments. Additionally, over this same time period, they have drastically increasing their graduation rates for all subgroups of students, including English Language Learners (ELL), Students with Disabilities (SWD), and American Indian students.
Dr. George Bickert, Superintendent from Ruidoso Municipal Schools was gracious enough to talk with Cultivate Education about how they have systemically reached these exceptional outcomes for their students. To read more about their journey, view the Spotlight on Ruidoso Municipal Schools.
